Outside of studying toward a degree in nursing at the University of Delaware, Sophia Eick is involved in various organizations. One of the organizations that Sophia Eick is involved with is the Best Buddies Program.

Established in 1989, the Best Buddies program was created to help children with intellectual and developmental disabilities make friends and integrate into the larger society. In April 2021, the Best Buddies program hosted a South Florida walk to raise money.

The Ball Park of the Palm Beaches hosted 500 people gathered to support the organization. Those who wanted to support the organization but did not necessarily want to go to the physical location watched the event online. Those who actually attended the event enjoyed taking selfies with their families and dancing with the Florida Panther cheerleaders.

The organization raised $109,000 in funding. While the walk was fun for host organizers and participants, the money raised will state programs where children benefit from one-on-one friendships, inclusive living, leadership development, and integrated employment.
